Christmas Craft Tutorial - Christmas Card With Robins

1. Open up your card so that it is on the table before you. Then cut out a paper napkin motif that is larger than the opening. Remove all but the top napkin layer and position it on the left hand side of the card where you want it to be glued down. Once you are satisfied with the position (check by closing the card on the motif and looking if it is correctly behind the card window), use the glue and paint brush and adhere the napkin to the card. Then let it dry.

2. If the card slightly buckles or if there are a couple of wrinkles in the napkin, take a piece of baking paper and place it over the motif. Then iron it very shortly to flatten it.

|
|
3. Cut a piece of acetate that is 10.5 x 17 cm in size.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
4. Place pieces of double-sided adhesive around the window of the card.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
5. Adhere the acetate to the card.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
6. Then place again double-sided adhesive around the window of the card. Not like you see in the image here.
The image here shows the adhesive on the left hand side. This was the first card made and it turned out fine (the risk is that you may see the adhesive afterwards through the window if you are not careful), but for the latter cards, it was much easier to again place tape around the window.

7. Then close the card and this is now how it looks.

8. To create the small bird motifs, each of the two paper napkin birds was cut individually and roughly out. A piece of thick double-sided was also cut out to a similar size. Then the protective cover was removed...

|
9. ... and the motif then placed on the adhesive side.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
10. Then cut the motif out.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
11. Repeat the above for the second bird. Then place 3-D foam tape on the backsides of both birds. Remove the protective paper.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
12. Adhere the first bird on the same motif on the card.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
13. Then adhere the second bird to the bottom where you would like it to be.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
14. Finally color the sentiment, let it dry and then adhere it to the top center of the card.
